# A lab report tracker that keeps the report

> Doctano turns the lab reports you already have into one private, source-linked health timeline, with an AI that answers from your own results.

Most trackers ask you to type values in. Doctano reads the report, standardizes the names and units, and puts every result on one timeline with the original attached.

This is the Markdown version of https://doctano.com/lab-report-tracker. The HTML page is the canonical version.

Doctano is a free lab report tracker for the reports you already have. Upload a PDF or a photo, and it extracts the values, standardizes names and units across labs, and keeps every result linked to the report it came from.

## The part most trackers skip

A tracker is only useful if it survives the second year. Three things decide that.

- **Getting values in.** Typing forty results from every report is the step people stop doing. Doctano reads the report instead.
- **Making labs comparable.** The same marker arrives under different names and units. A list that does not normalize them is a pile of numbers, not a history.
- **Keeping the source.** If you cannot get back to the original report, you cannot check the number.

## What happens after you upload

1. **Read.** Doctano reads the PDF or photo and pulls out each biomarker, value, unit, reference range, panel, and date.
2. **Standardize.** Names and units are mapped to a common form, so SGOT and AST become one marker.
3. **Classify.** Each result is compared with the range printed on its own report.
4. **Place.** The result goes on the profile's timeline, next to the same marker from earlier reports.
5. **Link.** Every value opens the original report it came from.

## What you can see

### One timeline

Results from different labs and years in one place, ordered by date.

### Change for a single marker

Open a marker and see its values across reports, not just the latest one.

### Cross-lab names and units

The same test stays one test even when two labs label it differently.

### The source behind every value

Open the original report from a result and check it yourself.

### A status for each result

Healthy, borderline, critical, or unknown, against that report's range.

### An explanation for each marker

What it measures, what the range means, and what can affect it.

### DoctanoAI

Ask questions about your own results across all your reports.

### Profiles for family

A separate timeline for each person, with access you control.

## How it compares

The alternatives are not bad. Each one is the right answer for a different job.

| What matters | Folder | Spreadsheet | Portal | Doctano |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Works with reports you already have | Yes | No, you type them | Its own only | Yes |
| Cross-lab names and units | No | Manual | No | Yes |
| Change for one marker | No | Manual | Limited | Yes |
| Value linked to its source | File level | No | Record level | Every value |
| Effort per report | File it | Type it | None | One upload |
| Explains a marker | No | No | No | Yes |
| Ask questions about results | No | No | No | DoctanoAI |
| Cost | Free | Free | Free | Free |
| Export | Yes | Yes | Limited | Not available yet |

## What it does not do

- It does not diagnose, treat, or replace a doctor.
- It does not invent missing results. A value without a usable reference range stays unknown.
- It does not export your data yet.
- It does not have a native iOS or Android app. It runs in the browser.

## How to start

Create an account with Google, upload one report, and check the extracted values against the original. That first check is the habit the rest of the product depends on.

## Lab report tracker questions

**What is a lab report tracker?**

A place to keep results from blood tests and other lab reports so you can find them and see how they change. The useful ones read the report, normalize names and units across labs, and keep the original document.

**Does Doctano work with reports from any lab?**

It is built for reports from different labs and regions. It reads the values, units, ranges, and dates on the page rather than expecting one fixed layout. Extraction can still be wrong or incomplete, so check important values against the original report.

**What can I upload?**

PDF, PNG, JPEG, or TIFF files, up to 50 MB each. Several reports can be uploaded at once. Scans and phone photos work when the values are legible.

**Is Doctano free?**

Yes. Every feature is on the free plan. There is no card, no trial, and no paid tier in the product today.

**Can I track more than one person?**

Yes. Each person gets a separate profile and timeline. A profile can be shared with someone who already has a Doctano account, and access is set per profile.

**Can I ask AI about my results?**

Yes. DoctanoAI answers from the results in the selected profile and points back to where an answer comes from. It does not diagnose, recommend medications, or replace a doctor.

**How long does processing take?**

Usually about one to two minutes, and longer for large or complex files. The original file stays available while the report is processed.

**Is my data private?**

Reports sit behind your account and are visible only to you and the people you give access to a profile. Doctano does not sell health data or share it for advertising.
